Skills:

Conversations about technology should be multi-disciplinary

What

Delivering meaningful change enabled by technology should be a collaborative effort across STEM *and* humanities.

Why

At the core of how technology changes society is how people change and adapt behaviours. Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths are not enough. We need social scientists, artists, philosophers and others to be active participants in these effort. More: https://mmitii.mattballantine.com/2017/06/29/another-golden-triangle/

Absolutely, we also need people that can cover all of those bases. I think that the focus that gets placed on programming can distract from other needs.

I think we also need to be putting a lot more thought into how skill needs are liable to change in the future with machine learning.

There are a lot of roles within STEM that may be vulnerable to automation.

Definitely. Tech is already a collaborative effort between STEM and humanities disciplines in the work place.
