Voice to text and text to voice

No one should be excluded from the digital society because they cannot read or write. All government consultations and online websites should be accessible using voice recognition software.

In a society that values literacy highly few people will let on that they can’t write letters or fill in forms. They make excuses. But, really, they are scared of being thought stupid because they can’t spell. As a result, they miss out on their rights and benefits. A digital society that leaves some people behind is not good enough. Voice recognition software will not only give everyone easier access to online services. It can create efficiencies within services too.

Great idea, but is it how likely is it people who can’t read or write are using websites? Until a graphic or voice led platform is available by default, its a catch 22 situation.
